when you makeing an ax,hatchet,tomahawk or anything like that how do you make the hole for the handle to fit in? this is for forging specifically. Thanks

normally you either punch the eye, or make a "wrap around" eye (not sure if this is the correct terminology) and forge weld it back into the bit.

I believe the tool used is called a drift.

For hawks you usually use what is called a "tomahawk" drift. I got mine from crazycrow.com..
