Am I in violation of any BladeForums Exchange regulations by listing the same knife in the Exchange as well as on ebay?

I read through the Exchange rules multiple times and it doesn't seem to be against policy. If it is, then I'd obviously correct my mistake immediately.

Also, assuming that listing an item in both locations is permitted, I don't think listing a higher price on ebay (to account for the exorbitant fees) would be unreasonable.

Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

No one knows who you are on eBay so feel free as long as it doesn't become an issue. Do not post any links to eBay or mention your eBay ID. Also you should make a note of it in your sales to avoid any type of confusion.

Edited for clarification.

What I meant by making a note of it is simply say that is listed elsewhere for sale.

Understood.

Main reason I was asking... Yesterday I had someone make an offer on my ebay listing. I then sent them a message, vaguely suggesting that they check out BladeForums (since trying to make a deal outside of ebay is against their policy) and find my listing on the Exchange.

Long story short, today they messaged me telling me that I'm a "greedy bastard" for jacking up my price on ebay. Needless to say, I don't think the guy understands what ebay charges individuals to sell.

He went on to say, "you tried to get more money and rip me off. i'm going to go on blade forums and expose you for what you really are!"

I'm not actually worried since I haven't done anything wrong, not to mention the fact that I attempted to steer him towards a better deal, for both him and I.

I'd say I'm just a bit peeved about being called greedy, when in reality I'm just a young guy doing my best to pay off endless student loan debt while attempting to enjoy my hobby of collecting knives.

If he starts a thread here, he'll probably get an education from some of the more outspoken folks in this place.

Linking to eBay is a violation of Bladeforums rules, just as they don't want to hear about us. Best bet is not to mention eBay around here at all. It's none of our business, literally, and as in most matters, cross-forum posting tends to lead to exactly what you saw: your motives can be all-too-easily misunderstood.

I don't see why it should be an issue. But I agree with rycen that sellers should include a statement in their listings notifying potential buyers that it is listed on other forums and/or auction sites.
