Can I thread Ferrocerium rod? (Metal Match)

Here is my current idea.

A round 1/2 inch diameter by 1/2 (or so) height knurled knob that will be drilled or drilled and tapped to accept the ferro rod.

Once this is done I will drill a hole on one of the edges to accept a fob or lanyard.

These are going to be presents for Christmas for relatives. I may make a few extras to sell just to cover the cost of doing this. I want to get them hard anno'd so that they are heirloom quality.

I should be done by friday.
