I don’t have any lubricant’s at the moment but I do have mineral oil that says light for bike brake fluid, could I use this for my axis lock?

I don't know about an axis lock. But I use mineral oil on all of my knives blades locks plus good rust prevention. I've never heard of mineral oil light though. It's supposed to be a laxative. Nonetheless I use it all the time.

Just buy a good quality gun lubricant at any sporting goods store or Walmart.

I don't know the lube you are talking about, but if it gets gummy after use, then it's a no-no.

Formula 3 gun conditioner has been my go to for 20 years. I got a little packet of Lucas gun oil with my Colt Python but never tried it.

I use it mostly because it's non-toxic Shane. It's a laxative you can buy it in the drugstore. It can get sticky that's why I use it. But I don't know about no axis lock. It keeps my knives rust free in a very humid environment. I also use it on my guns. Just a light wiping down. No rust in the jungle no less

Sticky on the blade, and sticky in the axis lock mechanism are two different things.

I can live with the first one, but the second one - not so much. :)

Yes they are two very different things No Doubt. But you can cut up an apple and eat it and not get poisoned.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to lube the Axis lock?

I've owned a fair number of BM knives and none of them have ever needed lube in that area.

Me too, and for the most part I agree. However, I do have a couple that benefitted greatly from a bit of lube now and then. It really smoothed up the action.
