I just saw another knife makers knife where he left his blade in vinegar for several days and it had left a nice line on it. I would like to do the same with my current knife but an unsure if it would work on ATS34. Thank you

check out Alleykat's instructional video on youtube about a forced patina on stainless... that should be helpful?

If you are referring to a hardening line (hamon), your ATS-34 blade is almost certainly through-hardened and will not show the same effect even if you do an etch or forced patina. The aged effect you can probably do but to get a visible hardening line you have to use the correct steels and HT technique in the making of the blade.
