Okay, so...yesterday I get a phone call at 2am. I have a friend who is pregnant and her contractions are now 2-7 minutes apart so she's like "OMG get me to the hospital!" So I fly out the door, get into my car and jet to her house...I never quite made it there.
The roads are slick and covered in ice. I try to make a turn going a little too fast, but my car is just too lazy to complete the turn. So I hit a curb with my front left wheel taking almost the entire impact. Nearly ripped my wheel off, my fender is all kinds of jacked up, driver's side door doesn't open, there's damage underneath the car (I can't see the full extent of that damage), and the rim has about a 14 inch chunk missing from it.
It's going to cost me $500 out of pocket and my insurance will cover the rest. Hopefully insurance has some policy regarding temporary car rentals, otherwise that's going to cost me about $200.
I've tried getting a debt consolidation loan, but they basically laughed at me. I've got really great credit, but the guy straight up told me that credit is almost meaningless now days and that the people they are giving these kinds of loans to now days are people who already have great income....FML
I know that asking if knifemaking could be profitable given my circumstances was a bit silly, I am just starting to get a bit desperate is all. I'm overqualified for burger flippin or underqualified for everything else it seems.
EDIT- oh and my friend found a ride elsewhere and she is now the proud mother of a healthy baby boy.
