I can't seem to send any private msgs. I get the msg "you are not authorised to access this page" or something like that. Thanks.

Page down to features allowed to Gold members. Private messaging isnt' enabled for basic members. Not sure if it is for knifemakers, never tried it.

ok, knifemakers and premium members can too. So it seems it's only basic members who can't send(or receive) private messages.
