how are you HTing the blades
cpm154 can be fairly easy to get into range reading the numbers
and what were you shooting for Rc wise

1975 for 30, dry ice, 450 twice. Looking for a 60-61.

Looking at the spec sheet there is no difference as quenched with cryo at 1950 to 2000. Next one will be at 1950.

Nick, I really appreciate it, I am gonna send it out hopefully tomorrow morning.

i run 2000f plates LN2 and 2 x400f tempers i end up with 62-63 (had a few razors that ran 63.5-64)
had to add temper to them to help make them shave a bit smoother
so with 450f temper i would think you will be close (it depends on how well your plates work)

ther are soem ppl that see to not get good hardness from the plates so i dont know what your as quenched /cryo blade hardness might be

Thanks for the info, preciate it! I did not even think to test what my as quenched hardness is.

Box in the mail this afternoon. Contains one tempered blade, one as quenched piece of steel, and shipping costs. Thanks again.

It checked out 60.5 RC and is on its way back to you. I'd say you did good man:thumbup:

Glad to help

AWESOME! I just now read the thread since I mailed the package. What did the as quenched piece test at?

That small pc gave me different readings. Could have been burrs. But one spot was 55RC and another was 50RC , but that blade as you can see close to the forward pin hole I checked it twice and it came out exactly the same at 60.5RC both times.

I hope that helps you out. Great lookin blade by the way too:thumbup:

Thanks again! Yup, I like that shape I came up with, hardly any straight lines on it. I need to blow up my template and make a longer taller version.
