Can somebody help identify an older Busse?

Glad you upgraded! Imho rainmakernis worth $90-150+ depending on materials. I would base price the knife at $400 so if i were not in a hurry to sell id ask $650 all included (no extra shipping or pp fees) and see what happened, maybe $700.

There isn't enough volume on these to gauge the market at combat grade unused. Hard to say what demand is, most likely you will post it for 2 mo and nothing will happen. You firget about it and then some guy emails you that he never shoukd have traded his and offers yiu full price on the spot.

WELCOME BACK AND GOOD LUCK!

Seems to me the market is around 400.00 plus you have a high end sheath that would have a decent wait time on ordering from the maker so if I were selling it I think I would start at 500.00. You can always drop the price if there is no interest.

I have had this to happen more than once.

Folks, I can't thank you enough. You've been extremely helpful. I'll take your advice and put it up here for $650, and if it doesn't sell, I'll throw it up on the Bay. The sheath is really beautiful.
Thanks!!!

I forgot to suggest that you put coating color in you description. I cant tell by looking if its gray, sage, ect. If it is tanker gray hasvbeen discontinued so id mention that. In my experience it slightly increased dedirability with no monitary increase on 2 blades but its good to include. Really nice sheath. If i had a comp id buy this and swap sheathes. Again good luck.

What's funny is that I've got red-green color deficiency ("color blind"), so am a little bit hesitant to do that. I suppose I could ask somebody else their opinion.
To me, it looks greenish.
Btw, do you know if it's allowable to include "OBO" (or best offer) in an ad? I'm assuming it's not.

Deeply deeply appreciated! At least I know I'm in the ballpark. Thanks!

Oh, and now that I read that thread, I should put down in the ad that it might not be a micarta handle. They talk about "linen" in that thread, so maybe that's what it is? I really don't know.

It's definitely micarta, although I guess it could be linen micarta. I think that's one from Humpoganzaaaaa 2008, but when they were offered, they were just listed as "Black and Tan SARsquatches" without specifying the handle material. I believe the coated black ones were black linen micarta (the competition grade had black canvas micarta). I'm not sure what the tan ones are (even though I have one).

I'm reasonably certain its an on old color called Urban Grey on tan canvas micarta. I've got a tank buster in the same configuration which would have been only a couple years after this was made.... ???

Urban Grey was one of the options the shop was offering at the time the Sasquatches came out, but the color in the picture looks to me a lot more like Desert Olive/Desert Sage/Sage (one of which would have been an available option from the shop at the time).

"Desert Olive" was an available option on the ASH-1, which was available at the time the Sarsquatch was first released, and "Desert Sage" replaced it on the NMFBM, and then just plain "Sage" on the NMSFNO.

When released @ Blade Show, we saw SARsquatches in 3 combos:
Comp finish @ black canvas micarta
Desert Sage @ tan linen micarta
Black crinkle @ black linen micarta

(Far right looks more like my Tanker Grey. I sold my black/blacks right after Blade...a twinge of regret lol)

Several in different combos as singles have been seen at shows on the table- I have a Tanker Grey & black canvas micarta bought at a later show.

However, going by your photos, my eyes see something more like Desert Olive on tan canvas micarta. Could just be the lighting? I don't recall the combo offered as a standard, so if you know this one came from Blade 2008, it is desert sage/tan linen micarta

Tan linen :)

Above prices look ballpark. I have two slightly used Comp. Finish SARSquatches. Paid $440 for one. $425 for the other. Both with kydex. Be prepared for buyers wanting knife only. No sheath. I frankly prefer inexpensive, durable kydex, so fancy leather an additional cost I don't want. Good luck with your sale. SARq one of my favorite Busse blades.

Great knife. Good luck with the sale, but I’m not sure why you say thanks for the suggestions and then list it at that price.

Hey, I can't thank you guys enough for helping me bust my cherry on my first knife sale here. Your numbers were right on the money, and I just sold it for $650 to a guy who I spoke with on the phone for almost an hour. He is THE perfect guy to sell to because he said he been madly seeking a Sarsquatch for quite some time. Not only didn't he hesitate to pay full price, but he offered a little extra juice for paypal fees. He also gave me a lot of insight into this forum, how to sell, and that this is a much better place to sell than on Ebay just because of the forum members who look out for each other. Way to go, Ben!!!!!! And once again, thanks to ALL of you who chimed in. Now I at least know what I'm doing. Should have sold my other knives here as well. Oh well, live and learn. :)
