I had a lime green one with a red stinger on the top of it near my house a few weeks back. It tried to swing it around when i touched it. The reason I mention its because it was about the same dimensions from what I can tell and smooth looking skin

any ideas on what that was? I'm in central IL

The green one was probably a tomato worm (same species at the one shown above). Can be a serious garden pest. Found two this weekend chomping on my sunflowers.
