Can somebody please tell me weither this Military is a fake?

I know there a thread still going with the Spyderco fakes but am worried so hoping somebody can tell or have ever heard of Militray or Paramilitary fakes ? How do you spot the Fakes? I bought a Paramilitary and Military today and i wouldn't know how to spot it. The paramilitary i got from here so less worried about it. But Military i got from fleabay and this guy has a couple other complaints about Spyderco Damascus Fakes that i didn't check before bidding. So worried now. It has the box and all the right serial # and product keys and everything i believe. Do the fakes get copied that well. Had the same problem with Fallkniven. Bought like 4 from a seller in India, thought i was getting a super deal thinking since the steel is made in Japan maybe these Indians got them for cheaper prices or something. They WERE LISTED AS HAVING VG-10 and had no clone or fake written anywhere in description. I asked him if it was indeed VG-10 and he told me no so got a refund immediately.Luckily weren't shipped yet. But kinda put me off from Fallkniven. But the sheaths had different design than originals that would be the only was could tell from picture. Cause i haven't seen any but today but either got a good deal or a fake Military.

The "DLC", lanyard hole and spyderco writing on the blade all make it look fake to me, but i'm not famaliar with earlier models. Where did you buy it and for how much? I'd say fake, but im not spyderco expert. I do own the DLC military though and it looks nothing like that.

It was $79 free S/H. I haven't even paid for it yet won in auction cause i remembered seeing a Spyderco fakes thread and started worrying cause seller had a couple -'s on feedback saying fakes. Does spyderco make any Damascus knives? Cause those defineatly looked fake. But this looked fairly legit with the box and all. The opening hole on the knife looked kinda rough to me though which lots of FAKES do but this might just be this guys personal knife too just for display purposes. IDK what to do. I doubt he"ll admit to them being fake but don't wanna miss out on deal if it's real.
 
That looks fake but I don't know for sure. If a deal is too good to be true...use common sense. Buy from legit sellers and you don't need to worry about fakes.
 
Or maybe just being paranoid about seening fakes rescently. Anybody heard of Military Fakes? What i seen in the other Spyderco fake thread some looked real legit to me also. I'm gonna ask seller and see what he says.

Could you please explain why looks like a fake? How do you tell? With the box being damaged i don't think it's that low of price. I sometimes see Military's new for little over/under $100.
 
The striations in the paint (from a poor grind) and the writing just make me think its fake. It looks painted not DLC
 
Really hard to say. He DLC looks like the colour is off but that could just be the flash of the camera. It looks used to me which may account for the low price.
If it were me I wouldn't buy it. But I only buy from dealers I trust and know work closely with Spyderco. Good luck.

See what your saying. Not smooth like on this one. The pivet screw is different than the one on this one too huh?

The domed pivot looks fishy and the blade coating doesn't look right. I'd send it back from whence it came.

Yes, there are Military fakes. Don't know whether yours is or not, but the price alone makes me think it may be. To me, $140 for a $280 knife is a bargain, $120 for one would be a steal, $80 either means you bought a stolen knife, or a fake. The fact that the same seller is offering fake Spins kind of puts the icing on the cake.

As for damascus, Spydero has recently offered VG-10 core damascus versions of the Caly 3 with a bolstered CF handle, the Stretch with blue and black Nishijin GF scales, the Delica with titanium and bolstered jigged bone handles, and an Endura with bolstered jigged bone handles, as well as a Mule.

Does the old school SPYDERCO MILITARY TITANIUM not have kind of a domed pivet though? Looks like it did. I'm hoping someone might have an old school Military with a domed pivet. Does anyone? Or have they been flat since they came out? Does anybody else think it might be an older model?
 
The "DLC" coating should be smooth, no lines, and it shouldn't reflect much light. The spyder hole doesn't look like it was clean cut by a laser, it should have a very crisp cut to it. The text on the tang doesn't look quite right. The screws in the handle aren't countersunk evenly, some stick out, others sink in. It just doesn't look like it's up to the quality and consistency that I've seen in every other Spyderco Military. Something is just "off" about it. Especially the price. And just a few days ago I saw a fake Military on the bay.

Do the fake ones say Made in Golden like originals? I was thinking another reason why it looks so rough in the pics is that this is his carry knife to show in photos. Still can't get hold of him. I'm gonna try to get him to take better pics also of one would be recieving if this ain't the one.
