Can somebody please tell me weither this Military is a fake?

Not being rude but I think you're trying to grasp at anything you can to try and convince yourself that it's real. I would send it back and save a bit more and buy a new one from a reputable seller
 
l have a 2004 military that does have a domed pivot, but the jimping on the thumb ramp is quite different.
Regardless of the domed pivot, the other red flags can't be ignored. I would bet thats a fake. Since its through eBay you should be able to get a refund without much trouble at least.
 
Could anyone show a comparasion photo of an older style Military vs. Newer or have they not changed over the years enough to not show much differance between the two?

I am. :o Not denying at all it's fake just wanna make sure it is. Can you blame me. :o I ain't rich so any money can save on knife purchases i gotta do it. Looking for pics of older models that might look like it but so far no luck.

If you buy a fake after the entire forum of collectors and aficionados tells you it looks like a fake? Yeah. :D

Seriously though, I agree with everyone else. That knife doesn't look right. $80 will give you a lot of really nice options for new spydercos from a reputable dealer. Let that one go.
 
Not a spydie expert, in fact only own the Mule Team 18 and only spydie I've handled. But that DLC coating is throwing off some red flags to me, it doesn't look anywhere close to what I've seen from their DLC coating or any DLC coating I've seen.

Your better off saving a bit more and buying from a legitimate dealer than risk buying from that big auction house, too many fakes. And I understand the whole money is tight situation, I am in the same boat but it's better to save up the cash for another month or two if you have to and be 100% sure you have the real thing and be happy with it than to risk buying a fake. After all these things will last you a lifetime if you treat them right.

That's great to know. Thanks. You think he might have modified the jimping? If this knife in photo is used would that explain for the way it looks? I think i'm gonna take a chance and pay and if fake return and be out $3 and if real save a good deal of $. Even though i'll probably regret it. :o

This is another Spyderco that the seller is has for sale. Is this one fake?

The date code on the military box is for December, 2012.
 
It's fake. Look how the pocket clip attaches. It's way off. Spyderco wouldn't let that out. Secondly, the lanyard hole I too small.

IMHO, the pocket clip, up at the attachment point is a dead give away.


ETA: Ulf, I'm not being a party pooper, I assure you, but I have 9-10 Millies. I have almost every Sprint Run to include 2 M390's, and 2 M4's. I have the BG42, the CPM D2 etc. you get my point. Bro, listen to the folks that know this knife inside and out, up and down.....THAT Millie is not legit. I don't want to see you buy it, and try to return it, have him be as azz hat, have to file a grievance though PP, etc. pass on it bro. Dave another $50, and get one that's legit. Just my opinion.

Will take your word for it cause this would be my first Military. Getting a Paramilitary this week also so already told the seller i ain't paying for the FAKE Military. God this Fake/Copy shit is just out of control. Didn't realize how big of problem it is. This one ain't really a super passable fake either compared to some others i've seen in some youtube vids after starting this. Unbelievably deceiving. I would have not been able to tell differance without knowing what to look for. I seen the price this was going for on ebay 5 minutes before it ending so didn't do the research and couldn't resist bidding at price it was going for. I hope this seller gets shut down soon. Already has others saying sells VG-10 Spyderco fakes. I wander why ebay doesn't do more to stop this. It's stealing. Maybe it's just an unstoppable problem at this point.
 
The short version is that Flea bay makes their 3% on EVERY SALE. They own PP, so every single dime that moves through, they get a cut on. Imagine the HUGE volume that goes through FB every day. That's money. Why cut off their nose when no one complains? Just like politics, follow the money......you'll find the answer. :)

Super glad you passed Bro. I know we haven't always seen eye to eye, and I'm VERY glad we put that behind us. Genuinely. I just LOVE Millies, and I don't want to see someone get taken. Very glad you passed on this one bro. Too many legit deals here on The Exchange. Heck, if I had a straight S30V plain Millie, I'd sell it to you cheap just so you could have one. When you do get one, you'll be amazed that any one production knife could be so awesome!!! :)
 
Ulf, watch for a used Military here on the Exchange. I think I payed under $100 for mine. There might have been a couple of scratches on the blade and the pocket clips coating was messed up. But it cuts stuff perfectly fine. Don't despair, if you have patience, you will get a real Military.
