I have been looking around for a single blade slip joint but i cant find one in the size or handle material that I want . So I was wondering if you guys can point me in the right direction. I was looking for a 3 inch blade and around a 4 inch handle.

Hi, and welcome! And yes, we can help you ;)
But, to give better suggestions, you should provide more info on what you're after: the slipjoint world offers alot of variety.
Specifically, the main questions are:
- are you ok with carbon steel, stainless, or both would work?
- what blade shape are you after?
- what handle material would you prefer?
Think about it, and help us help you (or, surrender to a storm of unoriented suggestions :D)

I prefer carbon steel. I would like a clip point shape. Bone, antler, and dark color wood as my handle.

The first knife that comes to mind would be a single bladed GEC 73 in 1095 steel and your favourite handle material :)
A very successful model indeed. I do not own one, but rest assured that others will post pictures here (meanwhile, you can browse the Great Eastern Cutlery .net website and take a look...)

I can only find it double bladed and i would prefer it be under 80 dollars. I think i need a miracle to find what i want under 80 dollars.

If you are patient enough, you may get a single bladed version here in the exchange section for about that price.
What about a Queen or Boker Copperhead? D2 steel, fits your criteria, and well within your budget :)

If you don't mind a lockback, you can have a look at the GEC#72. There's one available for around your budget but since he's not a sponsor here, I can't name him. If you drop me an email I can tell you privately where to look. Alternatively, do a google search for "72 Tidioute Lock Back Burnt Orange Jigged Bone" and it should lead you there :)

Cheers and welcome to the forum!

Queen heritage jack in a single blade clip would fit that bill. Can be found in ebony and rosewood.

For under $30 you can get a Buck 302 Solataire. It's about 4" closed , almost a 3" blade.
420 Stainless though, and not your preferred handle material but U.S. made and very nice.

Canal Street Cutlery makes a single blade knife close to your specs and within your budget.
Their Half Moon Trapper is 3 3/4" and has a single clip blade.
Here are the specs from CSC's website...
-Single Blade Trapper
-Reclaimed American Chestnut Handles
-Flat Ground Blade 14-4CrMo or 440C Steel
-Polished Mark Side Blade Finish
-Highly Polished Bolsters
-Canal Street Cutlery Brass Coined Shield
-Gift Box

If you want to keep things really basic, look at the Opinel line. Very economical, both carbon and stainless blades. Wood handles. If wanted it dark you could always stain it. Although I think in some versions they use a darker wood.

Many Opinel fans here. Don't let the low price and basic construction fool you. They're a darn good knife.

I was also going to suggest one of our talented modders, Esnyx, to see if he can create what you want in your price range. He does some amazingly good work modding the GEC lineup.

Check out the Case slimline trapper. Available in carbon or stainless with a variety of handle materials.

There really are many options for what you want. If anything you'd have to narrow it down even more. You can look at slimline trappers, like Carbon suggested. Queen's #11 or GEC's #48 would fit this bill. You can go texas toothpick. GEC's #12 would work. You could go copperhead such as Queen's #41. I'm sure there are many more, those are just the Queens and GECs that I can think of off the top of my head.

This year's forum knife.

Queen Copperhead or CSC Half Moon Trapper come to mind right away. A bit smaller but we can get a GEC 15 in wood in your target price range too. I am all about the half stop so would go with the 15 out of this bunch. There are longer patterns from GEC but your price range limits choices. If you are down with a Wharncliffe how about the GEC Talon? A bit short perhaps but you can get one in your price range and they are very appealing as a slim EDC.

Forum knife looks nice but good luck finding one, and if you do the price is probably jacked up.

Right off the top of my head, the GEC #21 Farm and Field fits the bill pretty well and has linen micarta handles in various colors. It is nice. The blade may be a bit over 3 inches, but the handle is a tad more than 4. It is about $63. There is a site that has these in stock so PM me if you want the link.
Case also makes the Sodbuster in Bone, now for under $40 and Queen makes the Mountain Man slipjoint for about $88 or so.

The GEC 73 is a great single bladed knife! It is a good useable size that can still easily disappear in a pocket.

GEC #12 Toothpick is 4" closed and has a 3" blade. Available at a few of GEC's distributors at under $80.
