Any slab of 1095 can be used to pry shit apart. If you bought it to open crates or open steel safes tho, you got the wrong tools bro. I've dug tree roots out of the cold hard ground, but I wouldn't take it to the job site to pry apart floor decking/wall sheathing from joists/studs, but I don't really doubt it could handle it if you were careful/smart.
The whole pry bar thing is because, well, it is a pry bar. With an evil edge.
Ask the crowbar forums if a pry bar can chop through a 6x6 post. I dare ya.
Yeah man, pry stuff. But you gotta know how to do it/where to put the stress (use a block for leverage)
I pried apart a tico nailed roof truss with a bk9. But I've also done the same thing with a cold steel folder.
I recommend: get a pry bar.
If you're ever in an emergency or some shit, I think
1/4" of 1095 would at least have a good chance.
I hate prying with anything that has an edge tho. Buy some tough gloves.
