Can There Be So Many Layers in a Damascus Blade That They Aren't Visible?

Yea it was a part of the plot involving her..she was a metallurgist and it freaked her out..It was 593bc, I remember but I just watched it again two nights ago..Im a geek I freely admit it..Ive read the expanded universe novels too:D

Ok, I learn something every day. I knew he got the sword from Ramirez in the 1500's and that it was made by Masamune as the wedding gift. I guess I just used the real Masamune for the dates in my mind. I never caught that bit was a thousand yeas old when Connor received it.

yea, I knew a bit about the real Masamune and knew those dates were not right that's why I said "based on" which was NOT really accurate on my part but just said it because of the dates...Good movie, classic stuff..Glad to see Im not the only fan..

I am always tuned to anachronisms. I spot the actor pulling out the crown to set his pocket watch in a civil war play, or hear the clock chime in a performance of Hamlet. Historical accuracy isn't high in many films/plays. Highlander was an exception in that most of the dates, battles, and people were fairly accurate. I missed this error about the era of Masamune ( pun intended).

FWIW, the katana appeared in its earliest and simplest form in the 7th century AD. It was improved in the 11th century, , and made into the current form by the 13th century. It has had few changes since then.
