Hey there I am gettin a Khukri and was wondering if anyone out there can make me a kydex sheath for it?

I made one for a customer not too long ago. It was for a Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri, and it was a VERY difficult project. Not something I'd do again, in fact! Sorry!

I am sure that Mike Sastre could make ANY Kydex/Concealex sheath for you. He is the guy who made the Blue Native Concealex sheaths. Modest gentleman who doesn't advertise at all. He gets a lot of his work from word of mouth. Send him an e-mail at: VideoSAS@aol.com

Molding the kukri is easy...the hard part is getting the sheath just right for that perfect retention stiffness. Plus, do to the shape, that gets even trickier because you can't use fasteners wherevr they make sense. The kukri job I did was a lot of work and it came out nicely, but not great. If Mike will do it for you, let us know what you think after you receive it. I'd love to see what he did differently than me! It's a toughie, though...

I designed a sheath for my "slightly Khukuriesque" Outsider, Scott Evans of Edgeworks built it. There's an extensive thread with pics here:

The design I started and Scott perfected is "public domain" and in my opinion would be perfect for a Khukuri with a bit of tweaking.

Talk to Craig Gottlieb at Ghurka House. I believe he has someone who makes them on request for a reasonable price.

His e-mail is: craig@cystern.com

Chiro75 engineered a pretty damn good sheath for my CS khukri; the one he's talking about upstairs in fact. I use mine as a primary bush axe when hiking and camping, and though it is indeed difficult to get the retention system just right on it, the more important facet of the sheath to me was it's weather-resistent, secure transportation properties. It fits the bill nicely. So while it may be difficult/impossible to make a quickdraw kydex sheath for the khukri, one can be made that gets it from point A to B quite effectively. And you can't beat the Chicago screws as anchors for nylon webbing for customizing carry on your backpack.

Ever notice no other candy tastes quite like Pez? Oh yeah, the BM Mini-Axis and the Rekat Carnivour are the best production folders yet (IMHO, of course)!!

BLADE-TECH will be producing a production sheath for COLD STEEL that will fit both CS Kukris ,if all goes well we should be shipping to CS before the end of Sept. Pricing has not been finalized as of this post, but said sheath will retail for around $39.-$49 USD. hope this helps!

Gunner,

Where are you getting the khukuri from?

If its a Cold Steel there is a Concealex option. Also, Bill Martino on the H.I. forums recommends a guy marking kydex sheaths. I do not recall his name.
