can titanium take a polished/satin finish?

Yes, but it's soft, so it doesn't hold it very well.

Sometimes I think just being angry with titanium makes it scratch.
Or looking at it cross-eyed.

No contact necessary...

I usually scotchbrite my Ti before electrically anodizing. THe anodizing is more vibrant or bright if I get a slight polish, which I accomplish with a med scotchbrite belt.
Works for me.

I'm pretty sure you can scratch or scuff the stuff with the blunt edge of a piece of pine wood. Maybe balsa. I used to hate it on one of my folders but finally gave up and just intentionally scuffed it all up and then I didn't mind the regular scratches and scuffs that daily life created.

I would say a satin finish is a lot easier than a real mirror polish, the polish is too likely to get scratched the minute you put it down.

best way to get nice color but have it last a bit is wire wheel orange peel

satin finish i think glass oe sand blasting
or some sort of non directional sanding (then you cant see the extra scratches )
