Can traditionals save knives?

I own many one-handers, a couple of Autos, and want to purchase a nice Bali-song, but really I'm into slipjoints, and traditional pocketknives as of late, I enjoy them more and more. Still I don't feel the need to ban or regulate any sort of knife, but I honestly I think more traditionally styled knives, appeal to non-knife people more so than other sorts. The SAK I'm convinced is a good knife ambassador to the non-knife world. They're hard to hate. Still I like all knives, I own everything from GEC to Cold Steel. Knives are knives to me, but unfortunately, not every body feels the same.

I think Kniferights.org deserves a lot of any credit due for "saving" knives, whatever that might mean. Switchblade ban repeals and amnesty laws can only serve to attract more enthusiasts (and thus, more money) into the knife market.

At work, the only knives that don't raise any eyebrows are small ones or SAKs. My Wenger SI or Victorinox Manager are viewed favorably, my Peanuts are "cute". I had someone make comments when I used my Conductor #33 to open a box. If I have anything like that with me at the office I opt for the smaller blade and palm the handle so it looks smaller than it is, not that a 3 1/2" knife is big but you know what I mean.
For years at another place I had my SwissChamp on my belt. I got a pass then because everyone knew I was a Scout leader and I used the tools to fix all their computers.
