Can we get a non back-lock ZDP-189 blade knife please?

I like back locks...probably because that's what all my salts have. :D. The only real disadvantage I see is if you are into flicking your knife open the back lock isn't the best design. I have other knives that work better if I feel the need to impress friends with my ninja like knife opening skills...and sometimes I do. Lol

The reason I just don't like them is that every single one of them had or developed a bit of vertical blade wiggle.

I like mid locks, but not back locks. Luckily, I don't think I've seen a spydie back lock before. Mid locks are easy to disengage one handed, back locks on the other hand.

That definitely can't be denied. Pretty much the first cut you take, play is now present. Although I've never had one outright fail on me.

I've found in my experiences that if you tighten the lock pivot screw any vertical play disapears.

The lockback is a proven design that hold up well over decades. I'd be more worried about liner lock wear over an extended period. But I like all the locks offered by Spyderco. The tiny bit of blade play often found with lockbacks doesn't bother me. Spyderco does use an internal stop pin on a couple models like the Sage 4 and Chaparral which eliminates the play.
