Since some of us like to have our Busse naked, it is more convenient to get Busse naked coming straight from the factory. It is easier than getting Busse clothed and then spend time getting her naked. I always have trouble stripping ladies.

Makes sense to me. I haven't attempted to strip one of my Busse's yet, but I will. I'd prefer them all stripped. I can polish them myself.
To have the option would be cool.

from the Custom Shop most anything is possible, but adding a random change to x-number of blades in a regular production run seems unlikely - screws up the schedule and such and makes it a quasi-custom order (even IF it's just leaving something off, it's different...).

just a guess though... ;)

Changes add complexity (and cost) to a production run. People have commented on how restricted the choices are in the BWM orders, compared to the myriad options we just had with the TB. Maybe all those options proved to a real headache for the shop, so they limited it this time around.

I think you are correct. I also believe that the TB was a form of market research for Busse, whether purposeful or coincidental. By offering pretty much every option under the sun even including choil/no choil, I think they were able to determine what the majority of people are looking for in a knife. That could be a part of the reason we have the BWM, and a reason the LE has black paper instead of tigerhide. Just some thoughts to stew over.

I would not be at all surprised if the color options available on the BWM are consistent with the most popular choices on the TB.

brief semi-tangent:

I'd love to be a fly on the wall, or better yet - a participant, when the options for a given production run are decided upon. some magical combination of voodoo, liquor, intuition, feedback from customers, stock levels of raw materials, and so on... of course, Jerry could just make it all up on the fly, but I have a feeling there's more to it than that and wish I could see.

I mean, for example... what drives the decision to (except in the case of a few GWs) never offer blaze orange G10? it's not like it's super expensive or anything, and there are certainly some people who'd buy it (even at an upgrade price), but nooooooo.... ;) Same goes for offering a comp finish/naked blade, surely it costs less than coated?

I love these guys, and this brand, but some things are indeed baffling to the customer.

/tangent

Busse is unaware of what you are or are not wearing when you order your Busse knife online, so yes, you can place your order naked. :-)

My guess is probably no. On past production runs I've asked to have costly, time consuming standard features left off of my knife but my request was politely denied.

Stripping mistresses is always easier after beating them. Keep your pimp hand strong.

No ........just plain No............ to all questions:) ( I have visions of all of you naked or in your underwear...very weird:eek:)

We send the knives the way they are offered on the website....:)

If we offer a blade without coating we offer it....:)

I think it is real easy:)
