Can we please just stop with the "net to me" and "Friend and Family only" crap?

This has been simmering in my mind for a while, but for some reason I've finally gotten fed up today.

I bought a little $25 leather slip case from a fellow on Instagram. He advertised it for "$25 shipped." I DM him, we agree, and he asks me to send friend and family. I say no, I only pay with goods and services. He says fine, so I send the money over. And then he asks me to send him another dollar since I didn't cover the fees.

I don't know why this crap is still tolerated anymore. Asking a buyer to send F&F or pay your seller fees is a clear violation of PayPal's terms of service, not to mention unethical. And even worse, as a seller why bother? Why not just multiply your preferred price by 1.035 and then list at that number if you really need to get a certain exact amount?

Is anyone else as annoyed by this as I am?

Not the first time this thread has appeared here in some form or other. It would be cool if BF made it a rule but whatever. Just be clear with sellers you'll never gift them.

Please not the same discussion again. The rules probably aren't going to change either because no one likes more rules and that would be yet another thing I need to look for it and take care of.

Something that has worked for me as long as I've been a member and well before PayPal is if I don't like a sellers stipulations I move along.
