Can we talk about the skinner blade for a second?

I too was thinking something more of a drop point like in the Sod Buster pattern. Since we are talking speys......

I find the longer spey (like in a Trapper Pattern) quite useful and generally keep it for food prep or skinning. I've heard they are great for whittling too. Keep it razor sharp and the need for a point is less, though not gone completely.

I thought that the OP meant a skinner-hunting blade like you see on a FIXED blade knife not the castration-spey blade like you see on some traditional pocket knives.

I carry a BUCK Ranger Skinner #113 FB knife on a daily basis in my fanny pack.

PS: I am trying out my husband's TOPS COUGAR CLAW FB knife too.
