Can you boil water in the esee waterbottles?

The ESEE bottle says it is stainless steel. But it also says they are made in China so, take that for what its worth?

I have one of the same kind of bottle; our company ordered a promotional run. Not as thick walled as the Klean Kanteens, I think, but the mouth is wider than some steel bottles, and the cap works well.

I'm sure you could boil water in it, but you'd need to rig up some suspension setup that didn't use the cap: let the pressure equalize.

I was wondering if they had a clear coating of some kind inside like the colered coating some SIGG bottles have.I would think that stuff might not be good for you to drink after heating. If it really came down to it in a survival situation I wouldn`t worry about it but for heating water for food prep and stuff ....

There are 2 types of ss water bottles, 1 wall and 2 wall. The 1 wall is fine for boiling water in. The 2 walled type has a inner and outter wall with air in between and if you boil water in one of those the thing could very well blow up on you from heating the air in between the 2 walls. Make sure you check what type you have before you try it, or you could really regret it.

We sell that same bottle at the place I work. Our own logo, of course, but it's a good bottle. No lining that i'm aware of, a bit thinner walled than a Sigg or a Klean Kanteen, and easier to clean than my Sigg. I'm sorely tempted by that skull, though!

Here in Arizona all you have to do is just leave that bottle in the sun for about 30 minutes and .... voila! You've got boiled water, next you can cook an egg on a rock or the sidewalk;)
Seriously though I don't see why not, of course the condition of the bottle afterwords is a whole 'nother story/question.

I would not boil water in them....
I do not own one but If the bottle is lined , not made for hot liquids.... Mr. & Mrs.S own one maybe ask them ....

I was wondering about a paint like coating not a two layer style bottle .Some stainess steel water bottles I have looked at/used/owned have a gold colored coating on the inside and others have turned out after use to have a clear coating on the inside .Now I always scratch the inside of a bottle with a knife before buying so I know there is no paint like lining(some bottles companies say the coating is to protect the flavor of the water so it will not taste like metal). This is the nature of my question as I would not want to drink water after it had been boiled in a paint lined steel bottle .

masking tape off the bottle to the bottom of the lettering and spray some hi-heat spray (like for a BBQ/grill (down south, BBQ is a food, not an activity or cooking device!) on the bottom of the bottle - this will give it a little resistance to deforming if you like. Dave from Pathfinder School does it on all his SS items (also avoids charring from the fire) and has lots of videos on his YouTube channel [http://www.youtube.com/user/wildernessoutfitters]. You don't need a "pep rally bonfire" to boil water anyway.
