Can you change the handles?

I am thinking about getting the Western Mountainer but don't like the colour of the handle. Is it possible/easy to change the hardwood handles on the knives?

To change the handles on the Mountaineer would definitely be permanent. They are put on with rivets. Short of some careful drilling of the rivets, the handles would most likely be destroyed trying to take them off. Then again, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
