I tried to search for this but did not find an answer. I feel like it not a big deal. I heat treated a knife in aebl last night and but it into cryo at about 10:30. The plan was to do a quick 1 hour temper this morning before work. I was called in to help driver at 4 this morning and just got home. The kiln is firing right now for the first 2 hour temper. Are there any problems with leaving Abel in Ln that long without a temper? Thanks Ty Adams

ACtually, leaving overnight in LN seems to create ETA carbides which is a good thing. Sounds like you did GOOD!!!

I had a blade that got lost in HT, many years back. D'Alton did it with a batch of others. I got the right number of blades back, but one was a big bowie that wasn't mine.I sent back the bowie. He couldn't find my missing blade ... no big deal. Many months later he found it in the bottom of the LN tank. It probably had the longest cryo in history. It came out fine.

I normaly cryo over night. Quench at night and the next afternoon it comes out and warms up and goes into the temper oven.
