Can you do this?

LOL, ya know masse I was hoping that no one thought that that was what I was doing, just throwing a bali behind my back and picking up one that was already open. :D

This technique is really painful to learn and I still have a while to go before I will be able to get it consistently (I can catch it most of the time but catching it in the open position is pretty hard). I must encourage people to really think of the ramifications of messing up while trying out this trick, you could end up stabbing yourself in the face (eye, ear, nose, cheek, mouth etc) so be careful (also of your traps and your shoulder and part of your back :S ). Very fun to execute though. :D I have a bunch of new holes in both my palms and I expect there to be many more, but it is fun. ;)
But I have a lot of problems trying to go from LH over the shoulder to my RH, not as much of a "connection" there, it is more like a 1 way street from my RH to my LH, but I will continously work on it so I can get them both all the time.

I also just thought of another the other day that I can almost get 100% of the time now, I execute a basic horizontal (from right hand) but I move my hand behind my back and throw it from there and it pops up next to me on my left side and I catch it after about 2-3 rotations with my LH (RH is possible but it is a real stretch), I can almost get it all the time going from my left hand to my right as well but that is why I am practicing.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone!! I would also like to hear what Clay thinks :D And a huge thanks to Chuck for putting it up on his site, I really appreciate it!!!! I hope everyone enjoys it. :)

That's what I call dedication!!!! Some might call it sadomasochism.................BRAVO!

LOL, no, I didn't have a second one behind my back (I only own 1 42). You can see that I don't have enough time to grab one, plus my hand doesn't drop down to the ground fast enough to grab another bali (and you can see that my hand is empty). Even though it is [somewhat] dangerous I encourage people to at least consider trying it out. :) If you have been bitten before than you should be used to it by now. ;) :D :p

And Dawkind....I'm not denying anything... :D :D ;)

You guys are nuts! I love it! Maybe I'll break out the hard-hat and safety glasses tonight... give it a whirl. :D

I'd try that but then they'd be calling me Lefty...;)
Very cool sir, very cool!

So Blasto, have you tried it yet? :D

Everyone who tries it should probably wear a helmet, safety glasses, a few gloves, and some protection for your shoulder and back. Please do not try this around a lot of people and only try it if you are comfortable with yourself and the connection between your hands. I am in no way responsible or liable if you are hurt or someone around you is hurt, it is all your fault. ;) Be safe and keep flipping. :)

That is one cool stunt!!

I'm off to try that right now!

I guess what you guys should start out with is just locking up your balisong in the closed position and then just tossing it over your shoulder and work on catching it with your other hand, this will help build that connection between your hands (practice this both ways). Then, once you can do than, start flipping the balisong and do an aerial that goes over your shoulder but have it land on your bed or something soft to get the hang of that, then put them together.
Be safe and most of all...have fun! :D
