Can you do this?

Hmmmmm, I can't do it, lol

I'm trying it in the closed position like ya said, but I can't even get to the catching it behind my back stage yet, lol, I just totally misinterpret where its going and my Bali just ends up clonking on the floor  :(

This reminds me of cocktail mixing, for some reason :)

Actually, I tried tossing it over my shoulder with it closed and I couldn't catch it either, it seems that psycologically I am more connected while flipping, I guess I really need to work on it being closed and that will help in out while flipping it. Practice, practice, practice, that is what we should do. :D

And practise we will!! Until our hands are all holey and our fingers have been lopped off :D

I just picked it up again - dropped it again and my mum screamed "Don't you start doing THAT again" meaning the noise of it dropping on the floor all the time :)

Practise, must practise......... outside ;)

Haha, BalisongMan, NOW I see that your avatar is a balisong !! 8-)
Damn I must be daft, I always thought it was a guy, umm some kind of totem maybe, with eyes (torx), ears and a mouth... Was that your intention or is it just me that's crazy ? 8-)

Cameron, I haven't given it a full-fledged try just yet. I'm just practing the catch behind the back with it closed. Man that's tough. :)

I would try that, but G2's bali is as sharp as a razor and I need all my fingers. Besides, even closed, the damn thing keeps hitting the floor.

Next, the behind the back catch in the belt sheath, AND the "pirate catch" by the spine of the blade in the mouth. Just kidding, please, don't even think about it.

RARanney: Actually, a while ago I tried manipulating a bali in my mouth, it was difficult but I got too freaked out that I was going to chip or knock my teeth out, a little to dangerous.

I strongly recommend that you do not flip a bali in your mouth unless you have no teeth (now I am tempted to get all my teeth taken out just so I can do this again ;)).

Gigante: I had taken that picture of the tang and pins well over a year ago and it fit as my avatar, I never thought of it as a face, I always saw it as my 42's tang stamp and torx pins. :D

I only use my 42 for doing that trick since it is my dullest blade, my 45 would have cut my tendons or nerves by now, and I am not even going to consider the 49-01 since that would probably go through my hand or cut off several of my fingers (I am not kidding) and I probably won't do it with the Dobruski. I might just start cutting a lot of things with my 45 to dull it down (damn that LifeSharp service!!! They did a fantastic job!!) :D Thanks.

::GASP::

I DID IT!!!
I've only done it with my half-latchless 42 though, which is relatively sharp. when I get it down pretty well I'll do it with my 43. That's it.

a little tip for everyone: when learning this trick, practice with a sock on the recieving hand. You'll find that you catch the bite handle (with the blade moving towards you) a lot if your arcs are off, so it helps to have some protection.

So there I was, right hand all a bleedin, left hand all a bleedin, wondering just how in the hell I was supposed to catch it now, when all of a sudden, it dawned on me... and now my girlfriend wants to know how the hell I ended up with a knife stuck in my ass.

j/k ...nice move : )
