I have taken apart a yojimbo. The para looks like it would be similar. It is easily taken apart. Just watch out for the blade piviot washers to fall out. Lanyard hole just sandwiched between the scales on the yojimbo. Hope this helps.
on the millies I've taken apart, the lanyard pipe was a press fit
instead of taking the 2 halves apart, you can rather rotate 1 side around the lanyard pipe so you can access the insides
What brj said. It's a press fit lanyard tube that actually supports weight and helps hold the scales up. Harder to machine and produce, but it's a Spyderco.
If you rotate the scales apart it should work. If you want to pop it out you may want to try wedging something in there.... not that I'd recommend it. The para shouldn't really need to be stripped down anyways. It's a really easy knife to clean and maintain.
