Can you find this knife?

Several years ago I bought this folding push knife. It looked like a normal 1.5" folding knife with the lock on the heel of the handle, except the blade pivoted in the center of the grip, and when "folded" it became a push knife.

Push/punch knives are illegal in canada, but I bought this in a local store (gone bankrupt now), so I guess it either falls into a grey area, or was just over looked.

Anyway, I lost it long ago, fell out of my pocket when I slipped on some ice and never found it. It was definitely my all time favorite EDC knife. I'd really like to get another, but I cant find any leads.

It was probably a United Cutlery piece. The old knife catalogue sitting in front of me says they retailed for about $20. It had a little black molded plastic sheath with a clip and keyloop, and the knife was never 'closed' with the blade always being exposed.

This catalogue is over 8 years old, but if you searched the internet for "United Cutlery Folding Push Dagger" who knows what you could find. Here's the model number: UC-927

Stick around here for a while, and you'll probably discover that there's a lot more quality out there now adays, and maybe something new will catch your eye.

Good luck!

The knife is indeed convertable with about a 1.5-inch blade (made of 420J2 stainless). You can get it for $13, but I'd think the only thing it could do is get you locked up carrying an illegal push knife. Still, if something works, it works.

If you do reorder one of these, how about checking back in and giving us your lowdown on it?

Glad you found some leads on your long-lost knife. The idea seems cool, prolly fun to mess around with, but I must say I would NEVER want to use a folding push dagger, really it seems a bad idea. The lateral stress of a stab into even a soft target might fold it up on you, goodbye fingers! That the thing costs $13 says a lot about probably quality.

Fun idea though, never seen that before.

Wow! Thats the one. Thanks guys.

When I bought it, it never even occurred to me that it might be illegal, as it was right from the display case of a a popular army surplus store.

Mass, if the mechanism failed it would only pinch your finger, blades only on one edge.

I'll take a look for one from within canada, I wouldnt bother ordering from elsewhere and leaving it up to customs with their "cause fuck em" attitude. Though my brother did buy a nice auto knife from ebay which got through.

Once again, thanks a lot
