I meant to post this a while back. This is something I made up for Ashokan. It is the handle for a very unique piece that I invented. I hate to say "invented" ,but I have not found any instance of anything similar yet.

The handle is walrus ivory and stainless steel. I will post the blade portion in a day or two after you chaps have some fun guessing.

I'd guess a knife with interchangeable blades. Thats what the clip is for and the release is on the other side. Thats why you never showed the other side.
 
A.Sharpe is on the right track. I won't show the other side yet. The attachment device is there.
Hint:
The blade is 6 inches long.
This will really catch some attention at Ashokan.

The slot is way off centre, and the handle is only one side good...only ivory on the shown side.

The blade is meant to lay flat on the unshown side...

baffles me so far...
 
I really like Leadfoot2's idea. I may have to make another one and do that. This one would work almost as is for that task........but that is not what it is for.

Some are getting closer.
Yes - something lays flat against the back.
 
Is it going to be one of those spring loaded knives that will shoot the blade out like the former Soviet special forces carried. At least I think it was them who carried it.....
 
No, It is a knife handle.

OK, I'll add a shot of the attachment piece. It is made to fit the Corby bolt, and will snap into what goes on the back.

A belt buckle knife, for those times when having a means to cut oneself free from kinky bondage play would come in real handy.
 
The back was the key. Phil gets the prize, a trip to hawaii.
I'll shoot a photo of it on later.
