If you leave a 1084 blade blank in a 400 degree oven (Evenheat not a cheap toaster) for 10 hours how would that change the characteristics of the blade? Would it soften too much? would it not have much effect?

Thought I would try asking this question again since I wasn't all that clear first time (too much background info on where the idea came from) and folks didn't appear to have read my entire post before replying.

You can leae your blade in for that length of time.Tempering is more temp. than time.
I often put blades in and set the oven to run 2 hrs and shut off then get the blades out the next morning.
