I'm just wondering if anybody could suggest a cool tactical folder, preferably with shiny blades and not black/greyish blades.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome!

Emerson and Zero Tolerance knives initially come to mind.

If you could share a rough budget, the size of knife and other characteristics you are looking for we can narrow it down to individual models.

Welcome. Depends on what you think looks cool.

We dont know what you think looks cool.

Give us some examples, and how much you want to spend, and we can hook you up.

For a "cool shiny folder" on a budget, I recommend the Utilitac II

Hard to beat on the cool-looking factor, at least at the price point,
maybe the best alternative it's the Cara Cara 2?

Here's one that I picked up for $48 to my door. Cold Steel Talwar. Aus8 steel and G10. Beautifully finished blade for the money. The pic doesn't do it justice. Very shiney:D Fit and finish was outstanding for the price. In a plain edge version it also makes a great utility blade.

sounds like you need an Opinel

And a micra

But seriously, if cool is all you want just pick one that looks cool to you.

Victorinox SAK. They have nice shiny blades. Get a one-hander. :D

Problem is a SAK is neither cool or tactical. (Stick with the program man!)

Check out Mtech knives, not only are they cool and tactical, but very affordable as well....

The ZT0452CF is a cool tactical. A bit of a futuristic gentleman's tactical flavor to it, but tasteful. Big blade but very pocket friendly & flips beautifully. Highly recommended.

Depends on what you perceive as 1) cool and 2) tactical and your budget.

1. is very subjective and you will know if the knife makes you smile.
2. Good suggestions here on Emerson, Utilitac and Cold Steel, Talwar and others as well.
3. Is up to you as well.

A strong lock, strong tip, good spine and a handle that affords significant purchase (both ways, fore and aft) along with a blade of sufficient length to reach parts that when reached neutralize the assailant's ability to attack - for a while or forever.

Though I favor Emersons for this function any one of my beater large or extra large Cold Steel Voyagers would do just fine as would suggestions in this thread.

Remember this however, that you are no more armed because you carry a gun (or a knife) than you are a musician because you carry a guitar.

The Ontario Dozier Arrow is fun, fast and flicky for around $50 USD. 3.6" D2 steel blade in a cool hollow dagger grind, linerless G-10 scales, weighs about 2.8oz.

Thank you all for your suggestions! You are all so very nice! And thank you Timberweasel I love the Ontario Arrow and will look closely into it! :)

There is such a wide range in this genre of folders. My go-to hard use tactical folder is the ZT 630. Great steel, useful blade shape, locks up like a vault, and can be quickly waved or thumbed open.

Beefy.

Cold Steel Recon 1s, American Lawman, AK47 , Voyager, Talwar, Espada. The Voyager series have CTS Bd1 while the others have CTS XHP. Strongest lock in the world. Grippy G10 handles (Voyagers have very grippy plastic handles with aluminum liners). Sizes range from 3.5 (American lawman) to 4 to 5.5 to 7.5 inch blades. Tactical indeed
