This site is great, so is Knife-depot. Are there more forums like these? There have to be, I just can´t find them right now, sorry about silly question:o.

Postscript: I like the Knife-depot about their blog and information.

That is a tacky request.

Why do you think so? I would assume that at least a significant minority of the active members here also participate to some degree on other knife forums. I know that certain mods do, and that certain members are mods on other forums.

Because suggesting other forums hurts the retailers, makers, service providers, advertisers, etc whose support makes this site possible.

So, in effect one is coming on this forum and asking how to damage this forum.

In my opinion. I'm with TKC.

I emailed knife center and asked if they can recommend a knife selling website other than theirs.(sarcasm)

I disagree most retailers a lot of makers and service providers are also on other forums and like happydaddy said there is a lot of cross membership. Im on multiple and after your on them you know what ones are better for certain things. To the op overall I think bladeforums is the best but some of the others are jeerzydevil, usn, knifedogs, knifeforums,SA knifemakers, edgematters, and a lot more. I would say this forum is one of if not the most active and after being one quite a few is my favorite.

I considered that. My conclusion is that the more involved in the hobby one is (and OP seems to be new-ish), the more likely it is that he'll be involved here, even if involved elsewhere. In any event, I wouldn't call his question "tacky." Reasonable minds can differ...

I suppose if you put it that way your right lol but I kinda figure this forum speaks for its self if you want to check out the others that's fine but if you want the best you'll just end up back here.

You don't harm this forum by asking if there are others. To me that's kind of twisted logic, unless you believe Bladeforums is like a religious cult and any interest in another is blasphemy. For example, we are all members of a family, but make new families with our spouse, our children, etc. This does not detract from the original family unit. I believe the rules are no cross-forum posting so that flame wars on one forum don't make problems for another.

I don't buy from the purveyors on Bladeforums because they support this site, I buy from them because they have good prices and service and the people here have recommended them. From personal experience, there are some Bladeforum vendors, makers, services providers, that are not really nice people, I no longer give them my business or they didn't get it in the first place. There are some registered makers that will never get my business because of the way they behave here, that's a secondary blessing from Bladeforums :)

For me, Bladeforums is the best. I've tried others, but there is not enough traffic to sustain interest for very long. The exception may be USN, but that's so weird it's like a cult anyway :) but they have their own show in Vegas. Joke...no insult intended...

Very well said and I completely agree.

Ive tried other sites/ forums. None if them clicked for me kike this one. I felt there was not as much activity as here

I don't know if it actually hurts the forum to recommend others, but I have always understood that it is considered in bad taste to recommend others. They usually will close such threads, just as they close threads that are critical of other forums. Just the way it is.
However there is this thing called Google

That is what is great about the interwebs, this is a very great forum, but not the only one. When this forum is above all others it is less then any other.
