I have 2 Spydies that are just too sharp. Last week I just touched my left middle finger very lightly with my Cruwear Millie and nicked myself.

Blood right away. The same thing happened today with my Manix 2 lw s110v on the same finger. I barely felt the blade touch my finger

this time. Not as much blood.

Does anyone else get their blades too sharp sometimes......and not realize how sharp they are?

A few years ago I was in the process of sharpening a Custom S110V blade.....

Well I went to wipe off the blade with a cloth rag (Folded up multiple layers) that I always use and it cut right through it and bit the hell out of me.

I would say that was sharp. LOL

I only ever get nicked by the points of knives for some reason. Stabbed my finger once, that hurt. As long as I can get work done without danger, I am happy with how sharp my knives are.

I never thought a knife could be too sharp but my 0566 is scary sharp. Hairs just jump off my forearms when I open it.

You have Suicidal Finger Syndrome. Get the poor little guy some counselling.
No such thing as too sharp.

Hard to believe the Manix was that sharp mine was meh.

But no the sharper the better. There is a guy on youtube that reviews some knives. He opens the slip joints part way to the half stop then pushes on the edge to open them the rest of the way. I cringe every time I see him do it. If it were one of mine he would have to take a little bandage break.

I was using my brand new, hair whittling, Griptillian today (I only had to take off the little bit of wire edge here and there with an extra fine stone and it was that sharp from the factory) . . . I'm not complaining . . . I was grinning while I used it. For what I was doing I needed it that sharp to have enough depth control while trimming something. Impressive knife.

Oh and . . . yah . . . don't touch the sharp side of the knife blade . . . they bite . . . it's just their nature . . . like a shark . . . just doing what they do. :)

My spydercos came very sharp, but I don't consider them too sharp, since I work with sashimi knives all day.

There was a point in time that I would strop my sebenza on leather with Diamond compounds and got edges sharp enough to pop hair, but it would dull within minutes of use. I don't have time to spend hours for a 5 minute job.

Now, I'll spend about 5 minutes sharpening a knife for days of moderate sharpness, enough to slice rolled wax paper or rolled phone book paper, which the spyderco struggles at.

Love my polish stones.
