Can you spot the difference

Wish they still pinned them. I like Case too, but hate glued shields.
I may be liking glued shields a bit less now for sure, but hopefully it doesn't happen to me again.

I just learned case is going to release the half whittler in CV and natural smooth bone, I can't wait.
My dream is to have amber jigged bone but the natural bone just might look nice as it ages.

Just be thankful it happened on a CASE 'gluey' If it happens to a Queen or CS then you'll have trouble in getting a replacement shield

That stinks...

I've taken quite of few of these knives apart with glued shields, and most are pretty well glued in. That's not one that you dyed the bone on, is it?

I've got a lot of Boker and Henckels knives with the 9mm round shields. The shields on these knives are all glued. So far I've managed to find and reglue the shields that have come loose. So far...

I have not dyed this one, and I do not currently have the missing shield.
It looks a bit off with no shield there so if I dont find it I may fit something to glue in its place.

I've found a lot of knives of various brands with empty shield holes over the years. For the round ones I usually just find a nail with a head the right size.
With Case I've sent pictures and measurements to Customer Service, and they've researched, located, and sent me the shields for free.

Contact Case customer service. I am sure they will replace it. They will either send the shield, or maybe ask you to send in the knife so they can fix it.
I may do this.
The knife came from abbydaddy's memorial scout knife GAW a couple years ago and is very special to me.
It would be great if they'd be willing to send me a new shield.
I am going to look a little more for it first though.
