Can you spot the difference

Congrats. Glad you got it back.
I think Case says to use one drop of superglue, but I'll use extra superglue, or epoxy, and rough up the pocket and the back of the shield.

I just went ahead and used some JB kwik weld that I had, if it doesn't hold I'll be surprised.

I roughed up the back of the shield pretty good with a dremel first and cleaned everything good with denatured alcohol.
Actually the Scout shield looks right!! The Toothpick's shield is upside down!!:D

Maybe.
I know it kind of seems more proper that way, being right side up when

I was going to use superglue but I was all out.
I'm glad I didn't though , inevitably I'd have use a tad too much and the white cloud you get with super glue Is so ugly.

It used to be a long standing cutlery tradition that knives were displayed showing their mark side, with the main blade/pivot at the right, and the "gullet" up! If a shield had words you could read them correctly in this orientation!! Same with the tang stamp at half stop!!
Then along came Stockmen that were actually Cattle knives, and vice versa;o_O
Pen knives that were half-whits!:p
Tear drops that were really regular Jacks!!!
Jesu Christu!! Va fa Napoli!! Ma che figura ci fa fare!!
How's an old curmudgeon supposed to know
what anyone is talking about!!:(
:D

I am so glad you found the shield! What a shame it would be if the BSA shield was lost. That was one of the knives that Case sent me for my GAW. I have always felt such fondness for those knives (even though I gave them all away to make the most of Case's kindness).

Yes I remember quite well.
I thought it was very nice of them to do this and it's an excellent knife.
I'm almost ashamed to be awaiting the pending CV release but this one will always be special to me.

- a suggestion. You can easily buy the thin superglue https://www.amazon.com/Starbond-Cyanoacrylate-Microtips-Woodturning-Stabilizing/dp/B00C32ME6G and apply it judiciously (after a clean) to the seating of any other adhered shields.

It's also very good if you have any tiny cracks in scales - you can apply some then rub with fine emery paper/similar and polish off afterwards - can hide a multitude of sins ;)
