Can you suggest a knife....please?

Since posting on your site a short while ago i have noticed that, at least in the general discussion forum, there is a favoured style of knife. Some of them i found to be very good looking.
I realised that the closest thing i owned was a Ruike P831. To a layman regarding this style of knife i found it really nice. Well made, centred well, sturdy and very sharp...….it was also very cheap at only $48.

I'm on a fairly strict budget, but because of you lot i think i would like to add a few more knives in a similar style to my 'collection'.

What would you suggest for someone who knows very little about this style of knife and has a budget?

It would have to be a knife that is available in Europe

Thanks :)

It is always difficult for me to recommend knives for folks in Europe because of availability and budget. Why not continue with Ruike? I have a few and they are great for the price. They use 14c28n steel on most of their knives, which is a big plus in the budget range that is normally dominated by 8cr and subpar Chinese D2. The Hornet F815 is a neat little fixed blade option.

Nope.
It's not available worldwide.
"Big river" refuses to ship it to certain states in the US. I live in Massachusetts and can't buy it.
Kizer has a Tangram store at one of those global, marketplace websites. They usually ship globally, maybe even to Massachusetts.

How about a Rat 1 in D2 steel? I'm not sure about availability in Europe, but it's an inexpensive, but extremely well made knife. Rat 2 in D2 might be a good one, too, if you want a smaller knife.

They look a little different from the Ruike you posted, though.

I'm about to get a Kershaw Bareknuckle. They're about $75 here in the US. Nice design and they seem well regarded. The look is a little more similar to the Ruike you have, too.

Truth be told, except for the Rat all the knives shown are right for me when it comes to more modern folders. I like non fussy clean lines, and that shape blade is to die for :-)

The Ontario Rat is one that i have been thinking about for many years. I know they are loved a lot and i dont think i have ever read of someone not liking it/them. The thing that always put me off though, is that i like to choke up on a blade, and i get the feeling it would be hard to do so. Though maybe i ought to get one anyway. I mean.....it is one of the best knife names in living memory :-)

Hmm....Something like a Rat that you can choke up on? I like the thumb ramp part of the Rat, but it's definitely harder to choke up on it.

I don't know what your budget is, but Spyderco makes very ergonomic knives that have a raised area for your thumb and a spot (forward finger choil) for your index finger to make it easier to choke up on. The jimping in those areas is excellent. A Manix 2 lightweight is a fairly good value Spyderco for what you get.

I do have a tenacious and resilience ( i think thats the names) they are the cheaper models i believe, but they were amazing work knives for two years...until i got the sack for taking a knife to work...lol...irony. They were and still are very useful knives. The big resilience is on the table next to me right now.

Oh yeh...i was searching yesterday and i found i had a gold lip mother of pearl Kopa as well. Very classy looking.

You guys are reuniting me with knives id forgotten id got :-)

I have a Tenacious and a Resilience, too. Both are great, but they're harder to choke up on.

If you like both those Spydercos, I think you'd love a Manix 2. The lightweight ones cost less (and weigh less!) than the regular Manix 2, but are plenty durable.

R Ruukuu are your able to get Buck or AG Russell knives?

Also, speaking of Viper, lionSTEEL, MKM, and Maserin are all others in that class. Maybe a little more than your original budget wish but might be worth looking into.
