Can you suggest a knife....please?

The Buck 110 is a great knife.

R Ruukuu are your able to get Buck or AG Russell knives?

Also, speaking of Viper, lionSTEEL, MKM, and Maserin are all others in that class. Maybe a little more than your original budget wish but might be worth looking into.
I can get Buck knives. But maybe not all, as some styles are illegal here.... like autos. AG Russell i've not heard of before im afraid, at least not till i came to this forum. The others i believe are Italian ?? ive had some bad encounters with Italian knives before now....quality control stuff. But that was many years ago, maybe i should give them another try.

lol.....when i bought my first bike and discovered Easyrider magazine, i read the stories and Buck knives sounded like Holy Grail knives.....i wanted one so bad, but they were as rare as rocking horse s**t over here...lol

For budget-conscious folders, the Buck Mini Spitfire and Vantage models are very good. As are the 425 and the 112/110LT models.

AG Russell is largely made in China these days but with quality in mind. I don't have any personally but lots of folks love them and there are some very attractive offerings in there.

The others I mentioned are Italian yes and have good reputations.

And let me tell you, if you don't mind carrying a knife on your belt, it is very hard to beat a standard Buck 110. Outstanding knife that paved the way for so many others.

I have seen some new Italian UK legal slippys i really like the look of...i will have another look at the locking ones if you say the quality is good. Dealer i use is very cool on stuff being returned no questions asked if i'm not sure....tho6gh i dont like abusing the facility if i can help it.

If that model is forty odd years old, i bet thats the Buck i wanted ...lol,

Going on fifty years I think and I'm sure it is. It used to be very popular with the biker crowd. They'd often modify them into auto's.

Again, if you don't mind the carry style, then I personally wouldn't buy anything else until I had a 110. Everyone should own at least one. :)

Just looked...dealer has five versions for sale ;)

The brass and wood version is the one to get. The lightweight ones, if those are in the list should wait.

That looks sweet !!
One fatal flaw.... no pocket clip

the Novis comes with a leather pocket slip and lanyard
it's a front flipper that runs on a roller thrust pivot. Awesome knife

they are available as a non flipper as well....

Ive never had a flipper. The legality of them over here is kinda in limbo and some just wont risk selling them.

Look at the Buck Vantage Pro. Good steel and a very good edc knife. Feels good in hand and is very sturdy.

Since posting on your site a short while ago i have noticed that, at least in the general discussion forum, there is a favoured style of knife. Some of them i found to be very good looking.
I realised that the closest thing i owned was a Ruike P831. To a layman regarding this style of knife i found it really nice. Well made, centred well, sturdy and very sharp...….it was also very cheap at only $48.

I'm on a fairly strict budget, but because of you lot i think i would like to add a few more knives in a similar style to my 'collection'.

What would you suggest for someone who knows very little about this style of knife and has a budget?

It would have to be a knife that is available in Europe

Thanks :)

Not sure about availability over there, but the Cold Steel Code 4 is an excellent mid-tier knife. You’ve got metal scales, an S35VN blade, and a solid lockup system. Anyway, happy hunting.

Buck not makes the 110 and 112 in S30V with G10 or Micarta scales.
Kershaw used to make a Tanto Leek (Random Leek I think).
Kershaw still makes a tanto Blur.
Then there is a far more expensive Spyder Canis

I just realized that about the pocket clip...no deal.
