😉🤣...
Mine knows she can but ill have to check the dishwasher to make sure it didnt get tossed in their, covered in some foodstuffs.

Her words- "a knife's a knife"
Sure..But that doesnt mean it should be covered in peanut butter and left in the sink 🙄😭🤣

"Can" or "may?" I've found that using flippers with stiff detents and double action otfs works pretty well to ensure the answer to both is "no." Some of them surprise me with their grip strength, though...

I gave her the top and bottom. She stole the middle one from me, and it gets used the most.

I keep a ceramic rod in the drawer with it, and I rarely find it without an edge. The coating is getting thin, which is alarming, considering it’s mostly used for food prep.😮

No
Wife uses the knives from a big box store in a block. She is not to be trusted after seeing her cut directly on granite countertop. The knives she uses also have handles that are diswashwer safe. I have a couple of cocobolo handled knives that only I use which are hand washed, dried and stored after use, but I do the vast majority of the cooking,

If we are talking about non kitchen knives she has zero interest in mine and will use scissors or a steak knife to open boxes

Simple answer, yes she can.
She doesn’t but she can.
Yes.
☝️ this is my experience. She claims she's scared to use my knives because they're too sharp (they're not, she's just not confident in her abilities). My eyes twitch a little when she uses dull scissors to open packages.
And yes.
Worse than using dull scissors to open packages, is when she uses her teeth to open a bag of chips or similar. Drives me right up the nearest wall.

My wife has my blessing to use them, but she won't. She's much more comfortable with a handful of relatively inexpensive knives that I maintain for her as necessary. (Victorinox, Boker, Tramontina and the like.)

My wife has her own knife that honestly sees more use than mine does. We dated for a long time before we got married, and when we did finally get married, I had converted her on good kitchen knives as well, so now we have multiple good kitchen knives, and she still prefers the one she bought herself.
