Well this definitely isn't politics. This is pointing out that a knife retailer is dishonest in their practices.

It also isn't discussing knives. It is discussing a dealer. It belongs in FEEDBACK.

And away we go ...

Thanks Esav. This is basically a 51/49 split. Unfortunately this is more of a political issue than a dealer issue, can't have this topic without both. As such, it may end up catching fire and this isn't the place for politics, we have a place for that though. In any case, let's see where this topic goes, I'm all for giving it a fair shake in any case, but we must proceed with caution.

Kevin Kent, owner of Knifewear, a Calgary shop that sells handmade Japanese chefs knives, said he supports Canada’s gun restrictions and wouldn’t be opposed to knife regulation “as long as it makes sense.”

The store: knifewear.com

A six word quote with the context purposely removed by the writer of a sensationalized news story. You're attacking a man and calling for a boycott of his business for that? Do you even know what he said before or after those six words? Did you consider asking before setting up your soapbox?

Gotta love righteous indignation on the internet.

It's definitely out of context, but I think he should have been in full support of no more regulation regardless of the current event in anticipation of his words potentially being taken out of context (like so)

Not that I knew of him in the first place, you're most likely going to add to his sales by talking about him here, especially in controversial manner that could easily go either way.

From the article:

Kevin Kent, owner of Knifewear, a Calgary shop that sells handmade Japanese chefs knives, said he supports Canada’s gun restrictions and wouldn’t be opposed to knife regulation “as long as it makes sense.”

“Sadly, it’s impossible to make society completely safe in any way,” he said.

Under these ambiguous circumstances, I think the best bet with this story is to let it sink into the sunset ... closed.
