Welp, time to vent a little bit... did a transaction with a feller named Bill on here a while back, who i must say has been EXTREMELY patient in waiting for this to all resolve.

I sent a Mike Obenauf Model 2 Small Framelock to BIll via Canada Post Expedited with Tracking and it has now been missing over 2 months. I only insured it for $100 so i am out about $300CAD. This really sucks, and since Canada Post is on a rotating strike of some sort they have not been easy to get a hold of. I filed a missing package report with them 3 weeks ago and they said they would contact me, however they have not. I am very disappointed with the missing Obenauf and it really sucks... didn't think it would happen to me.. but it did. :(

This CDN feels your pain Corwin. They lost one of mine as well a while back-nowhere as dear as an Obbie fortunately.I will NEVER resort the them again
Good luck.

That sucks.Sorry for your loss.Always insure the item for the actual value. It is worth the extra dollar or two.Maybe it will wind up showing up.I had a package finally show up a whole year later almost exactly to the same day it originally shipped.

last year i did a trade with a gentleman from Vancouver that did me dirty. My LCC for his CQD priority with delivery confo both ways. he got mine, my confo # said it was delivered to Texas....I live in Michigan. he said he would go CA post and get it straightened out. Never heard from him again.

From EBay experience only - I no longer directly buy anything from anyone shipping or billing from Canada. It always ends up in a hassle of some sort; lost package, fraud, higher fees, non-payment, etc. With Canada being our long time ally to the North something is terribly amiss with the banking (monetary) and shipping exchange. Have several MC friends who I see at various events in the US and this is not an anti Canadian post just listing my experience.

Sarge, I agree. I only live a 1/2 hour from the border and have dealt with many buisnesses.
There are bad apples everywhere in the world.

Sorry to hear of this happening to you Corwin. I know that Canadian customs have not been kind to you in the past either. Perhaps its time to come across the border and make the transition and say goodbye to the great white north :)

I have had one too many negative experiences with Canada Post as well. I had to end up calling them multiple times. Not only were they slow...but incompetent...and quite rude. to this day...I will never buy or sell anything from anyone in Canada. Just too problematic.

My experiences were such that I would rather deal with someone in a third-world country than with someone in Canada...strictly because of Canada Post. In point of fact, I have had an easier time with purchases from Poland...than with those made in Canada. Something is badly wrong with Canada Post. Guess socialism doesn't work......

In case you haven't gotten the message...my advice is to never do business with someone if Canada Post is involved. Period. They make the USPS look like a bunch of polite geniuses.

Edited to say I wasn't implying that Poland is a third-world country. Pick the most God-forsaken place on earth. I'd rather ship something to or from there...using bottles thrown in the ocean...than use Canada Post. That's what I meant.

Canada Post for the most part, does good service when Shipping within Canada itself..
The same drill though, the parcel should be fully insured with a signature confirmation on delivery.. ($1.50 Can)
The problem is crossing the border either way..
It's a pain in the $$S when Customs becomes involved with Canada Post..
The better gig is ship UPS, insured when crossing the line..
It does cost more but it offers a much better tracking system and offers peace of mind..

Of course even better is to physically cross the ditch and ship within USA to a USA destination..
