Canadian Busse Buyers and Import Fees?

No problems on my side (Montreal). I bought around 10-20 knives from the USA, including my first Busse (TGLB) directly from the shop and NO extra charges. Just be sure, like someone mentioned, that the knife is shipped via USPS otherwise you will get insane brokerage fees. If a website cannot ship USPS I buy elsewhere.

You will most of the time have to pay taxes on your item.

Have fun shopping for your Busse and please do buy directly from the shop, they have good people taking care of you.

My Rucki was just left on the step by the door, no extra charges there.
My NMFSH was about $74.00 extra.
You win some and you loose some.

And yes, like many places there are some gooood beers here :)

The customs brokerage will get you every time the only ways around that are:
Pick up the knife yourself state side as there are places along the border (stores/customs warehouses) that you can ship your items to for a small fee and then pay the GST when you declare the goods to the CBSA.
Shipping via USPS to Canada Post is normally the cheapest, often no brokerage is charged....but it's hit and miss.
Search Canadian Customs Brokers with Google and make some phone calls asking about One time accounts....The prices are vastly different between brokers so it really pays to shop around!
If your really unsure as to what to do call the CBSA or look at personal importations of goods on their Web site.

Okay, an extra $20 on the hundred. If sent Intl.Priority, it needs to be scanned by customs, and probably be hit with applicable taxes (same that would be added if bought in Canada). Approx. $8 CPC service charge for collecting said taxes.
If mailed USPS first class mail Intl. it will most likely be cleared with no charges. Regular small packets/parcels go down a belt by the hundreds and are only sampled.
