Hi guys and gals,

I am offering these services (thread started in June 2014):

- dark acid etching and stone washing blades
- titanium blasting
- titanium anodizing
- sharpening on the wicked edge
- stone washing/sanding/scotch-brite-ing flats after anodization

Prices will vary: basic easy sharpening starts at $25. Thickness of blade stock, bevel consistency, desired finish, and hardness of blade steel will influence price.

Prices for titanium modifications are forthcoming. I enjoy the projects.

Right now I am specializing in the antiqued or distressed look.

Please email me at alligatorgarfish at gmail.com, PM, or just reply to this thread.

Here are some examples of my work:

Phil's Southard. CTS-204P does not get as dark as other steels because of a high chromium content, but it still looks nice in my opinion.

Titanium Military with dark acid etched blade, blasted, anodized and stone washed handle. I have also made this a tip-up Military. Pictures to come once I receive the proper low rider clip.

I had edited this thread and deleted many of the pictures because of a shoulder injury. A friend told me that I have more to offer than re-profiling and polishing secondary bevels so I have re-posted on this thread.

Sorry guys.

Thanks a lot.

Whereabouts are you located in Alberta? I'm just wondering if you're close enough for me to drop anything off/pick any thing up locally with no need for shipping. I'm about 20 minutes south of Calgary...been thinking my Tenacious could use an acid wash.

Canada Post is murder!!!

Very nearly haha. And yeah, unless I'm working up around there it wouldn't be convenient for sure. I was in Rimby a month ago but that's still a ways away for a drop off. I'll let you know when I'm ready for an acid wash on my Tenacious (I have a few things coming up so it will likely have to wait until mid-August or September).

Damn was thinking today I was going to inquire about a stone washin but after browsing the thread I take it your not taking orders at the moment??

He's edited his posts and removed all pictures...I have to assume he's stopped indefinitely. I've considered acid and stone washing my Tenacious at some point in the near future...I'll let you know if I do it and it turns out because I'd definitely do other people's knives if I get the hang of it.

Acid stone washing is relatively easy. Ferric chloride in an olive jar. Mix the powder about 3 to 1. Let the blade sit in there for approximately 1 hour and tumble or shake for 30 seconds or more. Just remember metal with high Cr will not get very dark. No matter how long you soak them and don't go to long or it will eat under your nail polish. I've gone 1.5 hours and taken the blade out, repainted it and put it back in.

I actually haven't set any prices yet. In a couple days my first anodizing customer will post some pictures on here. Check his out.

I really enjoy the projects. This one is blasted, anodized, tumbled and scotch-brited. We can come up with a price together. Maybe shoot me an email.

Here's another ano job.
