When Canadian customs determines a knife is contraband do they send the empty box along or do they contact the addressee? I recently received an email that a fellow in Canada received the package I sent but the knife wasn't in it. I filed a "missing contents" report with the USPS, but was wondering if it could be a case of customs grabbing it.

Canada Customs send a letter to the adressee stating the item has been seized and I doubt very much that they would merely send a box, they would keep it all in case the addressee appeals the seizure. Hope this helps

That sounds like the knife was stolen. I had a knife confiscated and Canada Customs sent me a letter citing my options.

Thanks for the quick replies! Sounds like it was definitely stolen.
