Hi,

I was wondering if there is another Canadian dealer? I have searched the http://www.eseeknives.com/onlinedealers.htm and there are only 2 Canadian companies listed. The link for Supply Sergeant is down, but I found it after a google search. However, they don't have any Esee knives listed in the store.

The only other Canadian site listed is http://www.workwearcanada.com/ which offer a good selection, but I was hoping there might be one closer to Toronto.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

i have dealt with paul at workwear a bunch of times now and i am always amazed by his fast and friendly service, and as far as time for shipping i have always gotten my stuff next day so i can only imagine you would get yours the same week you order

he will also order things for you if it isnt on the site

i think workwearcanada ships for free if its over $75,

and jay at warriors and wonders is helpful to. if you can wait till the end of april when they get thier stock it might be worth it...although its in vancouver, not exactly closer to toronto for ya...

Hello amon,

I am about 330 miles from Toronto & ship to Canada on regular basis with no problems & I know other dealers in the states ship there as well.

Nice website and you have some goodies I want. You'll be hearing from me in the next month or two :D :D

Thank you. You have great selection and great prices! I am going to look for a Canadian supplier first, but if I was in the USA I would have already ordered from you.

I have S&R Knives, which is local to me, I might see if they have any to at least get a feel for which one I like the best.

Thank you all for the answers.

i did look all the Canadian option and ended up ordering everything in the US.. with the value of canadian dollars and the shiping cost.. It is ALWAYS cheaper that what I can find in Canada (which is a real shame.. why are we selling our stuff that high!) and I have to give credit once again to Dale from T-K-C .. it was the fastest shippment I have ever since from the USA to my door in Montréal, Canada. Blazing fast.. it was scary! I think Dale ship with his private jet! Big thumbs up for TKC

Hey Doc, thank you for the info. You find it still cheaper even after duties? That is my main concern.

Looks like I will be buying from you Dale, I just need to wait a little bit. I just bought a knife from HI and my wife will need a few weeks to get over that ! ;)

When the storm settles I'll hit your site up. Thank you again for the info.

I've never paid duties for a knife. I've ordered several knives from us to canada.
Did any of you did?

I ordered a close-out knife from Cold Steel [ the Black Sable, which I thought was a pretty good deal at $160.00] However B#stard customs charged me $30.00.
I was beginning to think that ,with the canadian dollar being almost at par, this would be a good time to order some knives that just aren't available in Canada, but I'm going to have to think twice now.

I ordered my ESEE from Workwear. Would absolutely recommend them, as Paul is super fast with shipping (Canada Post expedited for free if the order tops $75), and the quick personal email from him was nice as well. He'll likely get my orders for ESEE stuff in the future (I have Warriors and Wonders in mind for some other things).

As an aside, does anybody know of a Canadian supplier for paracord? Ideally more than just the military green that Workwear carries?

In the past I have purchased swords and daggers from the USA and got hit hard with duties. Which is why I am hesitant to order again from the USA. However, I think I will be ordering from Dale in the next little while after my wife calms down from my most recent puchase! :D

If they're *made* in the US, you shouldn't be charged for duty. If they're made elsewhere, but coming from the US, you can be charged duty (even if most of the item is made in the States, but some part of it is made elsewhere, you can be charged duty on the entire value).

You will pay taxes on the entirety of the item regardless (sometimes you'll get lucky, though, and not be charged).

If you are mistakenly charged duty, you can file to have those charges reimbursed.

Keep in mind, some companies (such as UPS) charge brokerage fees. This is not a duty charge, this is their way of gouging you for $40. Generally, no way to have those charges reimbursed, unless you have your own broker or some such.
