Canadian Knifemakers Guild Show review

This might be our best show review yet.

Murray you are pretty special to compile all of this. Lots of fodder for future purchases from some folks I do not get to see often iif at all. From what I have seen in this thread and others, you and your wife could go knife shopping for me any time (I'll could just send you the cash with no instrutions and would be happy with either of your decisions :D).

Thank you!

Gus

Thanks for all the kind words from everyone. It is always fun to do the images and I have always enjoyed adding the images to the reviews that RL does.

The idea of a review of all the knives I have is an interesting concept. Kind where they were obtained and info about? Of course all the knives except the last few are on "My Photos" and I hope to get those up either today or maybe Friday.

I'm certainly going to think about the review idea though.

I'll be posting some other knives to BF in a couple days also.

just noticed that for some reason my signature file is not appearing and yet the option is selected. Is there a problem with BF?

Thanks for the recognition Murray...my reviews sure wouldn't be the same without your great photography work!

Allow me to repost some of my (lousy) pics...

Very generous of you to take the time to create this review. It takes a lot out of a two day show to take the pictures and write all the information down that you document, then to spend the time at home getting it all set up to post. It is very enjoyable and feels like we attended.

Great review Murray! Thanks again for your generosity... inviting us to your home, I really enjoyed browsing your collection... absolutely amazing!

And no, i didn't have the Nanaimo bars, I had the Molten Lava cake and lots of whipped cream ;)

Outstanding review, Murray! And, of course, your photographs ain't bad, either! ;)

I just found a few snapshots that I took of some of the CKG makers. I don't want to hijack your thread so I will post them separately. My apologies for any repetition.

Just spent an hour adding some photos and comments and when I clicked on "Submit this thread" - everything DISAPPEARED!! wha'happen'??

did you preview the post? also, I find that when I'm submitting a large amount of text/photos, it is a good idea to create everything in Word(pad) and then copy/paste to the forum so that if disaster strikes, it is a simple procedure to redo everything with another "paste". Also, refresh to see if te post actually was entered but you did not see it.

This has never happened before. :grumpy:

Maybe I'll give it another go in a few days. Right now I'm still steamin'.

Mike, I just came back from Darren Chard's shop and he showed me a few folders he's taking to Novi - outstanding! You know what a nitpicker I am about centered blades - well, every blade I checked out, with a loupe - was DEAD centre in the trough. Anyone who's going to Novi (we are), do yourself a favor and check these out. Can you say, "Bargain"?

Hello Murray just took a look for the first time at your posting about the CKG show. Firstly I would like to thank you for all your hard work , second I thank you for your support regardless of what knife you purchase it is nice to see you come in knowing you are there to do more than kick tires thanks again ,,,,,,,,,Darren Chard

....Get someone to help you post a pic of same. :D

Well, I have posted photographs once or twice in recent years. ;) If I have time this weekend, I'll see if I can resurrect my "phantom thread".

Hi Murray,

Great job on the pics and reviews. Would you happen to have any contact info for Barb Lorchner? I really liked her work.

Thanks,
Marc
