The 13th Annual Canadian Knifemakers Guild Spring Show & Sale
Shown for the first time in Canada: the complete range of knives from world-renowned Strider Knives and Chris Reeve Knives.
At the 2007 CKG Spring Show & Sale, international knife purveyors, True North Knives, will be representing the complete range of Strider Knives and the complete range of Chris Reeve knives. This is the first time ever in Canada that the entire product line of these two respected knife companies has been assembled for sale and demonstration at one venue. Each company will have a dedicated display manned by various True North Knives staff, including owner Neil Ostroff and his son Alex.
Not only does the CKG Spring Show 2007 represent Strider Knives and Chris Reeve Knives first major venture into the Canadian knife show market, each company has also graciously agreed to donate one of their knives to be raffled off at the show by lottery. Each of these knives, engraved CKG 2007, could possibly become treasured collectors items by the cognoscenti.
Other desirable giveaways such as T-shirts, ball caps, etc., will also be donated and raffled off to many lucky winners.
The worlds premier knife and cutlery magazine, Blade Magazine, will also be represented at this show for the first time. Not only will they be providing the May issue of the magazine at no charge to all those who attend, but, on their behalf, True North Knives will also raffle off a one-year subscription to the magazine! (courtesy of F & W Publications).
The many custom makers at the show will be displaying and selling a mind-boggling array of edged tools: from custom made kitchen carving sets to hunting knives, from fishing knives to folding knives from the most mundane of cutting tools to the most exquisite pieces of edged art.
The 13th Annual Canadian Knifemakers Guild Show & Sale takes place Saturday, March 17th and Sunday, March 18th at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel (formerly Days Inn), 6257 Airport Road in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. The hotel, about 15 minutes from downtown Toronto, is actually located across from Terminal 3 of the Toronto Airport and is accessible by all major traffic routes.
Show hours are 10:00am to 4:00pm daily.
Custom knifemakers attending this year will include renowned tactical knife maker Greg Lightfoot from Alberta, popular Kirby Lambert from Saskatchewan, well-known Brian Tighe from Ontario, and the legendary art-knife maker, Wolfgang Loerchner plus many, many others.
The mandate of the Canadian Knifemakers Guild is to increase public awareness of knifemakers, as skilled and versatile craftspeople producing high quality implements and works of art.
The Guild also provides a forum for the exchange of techniques and ideas between all custom knife makers so that, in a sharing atmosphere, all may grow to their full potential. The Guild has created a uniform code of ethics and standards so that a buyer can deal with members on a level field. The buyer will know that the overall quality of workmanship will be predictable.
