canadian makers recognition for canada day

I only have one knife made in Canada but it's 01 carbon steel and a really nice ff .

Not sure how to contact him, but I think he's still making knives.

Last year, the local gun shop (in Windsor) got a bunch of new ones in from him.
They were NOT inexpensive...and they all sold within a single day!
Whoa, thank you for this info, much appreciated! Not sure how it happened, but I didn't see your post until today! Very glad to hear Jeff Diotte is still working.

There are so many incredible Canadian knife makers, past and present, it's impossible to have one favourite or even to name the top ones. The canadian knifemakers guild had many of the best but we have many that were not members, especiallky out west.. We have three or four mastersmiths including the great Wally Hayes ( probasbly my favourite for fixed blades) and Christoph Deringer, there is the absolutely incomparable Wolfgang Loerchner ( way above my price range), Brian Tighe, superb artist and photographer as well, there is the king of tacticals and wild pig nemesis, Greg Lightfoot, and too many others to list with apologies to everyone I didn't mention. We have knife makers of every kind and every range of knife if you look, and supporting our own and especially local makers too is very rewarding because the value for price is usually excellent and most of them are as nice as they are talented, and I mean that because I've found it to be true.
