Thought I'd share some pictures. I took these during October 2007 in western Ontario, when I was doing some surveying work, cleaning the lines and taking soil samples for a family friend that does some gold prospecting. I was pretty busy working, so I didnt get that many chances to break out the camera, which was kept in a water proof bag, so it was really slow to take out. These pictures were taken over the course of a week.

Normally we'd set up a camp and stay out in the bush, but we werent out there long enough, and it was just us two, so instead we just stayed at his cabin on one of the islands.

We'd get up before dawn, and be on the water by first light. The first landing was approximately 30 miles away by boat. From there there was an hour walk to an inland lake. Then we'd take a small boat that's stashed there (with the outboard motor that we carried in) and it'd be another 40 minutes going through the smaller lakes to the particular claim line we were working on.

So without further ado, the pictures...

On the far side of the hill the terrain changed completely, suddenly I was in a cedar bog

One day the fog came rolling in so we just did some work around the cabin and boat house

Nice countryside. I haven't seen that much Canadian fungus since I was in an NHL locker room :)

Thanks for sharing the pics, I have never been there but it looks like a great place.

Fantastic pictures. Makes me want to take another trip to the Great White North. I'm counting the days until weather and time allow me to strap my pack on again.
