Canal Street Cannitler- Pics 7/22/11

I also have one in ram's horn, I guess the same as 2Dead's, although mine has a serial number and it appears that his does not. Maybe a different issue run.

Its #17 of 50, just hard to see in that pic. Easier to see in this older pic.

Uh oh. Think I might have a problem.
Just placed an order for another Cannitler but in Amber Stag this time.
And I'm already deciding if I should get a cocobolo or pearl next.
I think I might be hooked :p More pics to come!!

Heres some pics of the Amber Stag Cannitler I recieved today.
So far I prefer the Buffalo horn but this is a close second.
Fit n finish is great, blade centered, sharp and this one has a lot
more spring tension. The main blade really snaps compared to the
buffalo.
Im still not sure what to look for in stag inlays. Like what makes
some more exeptional and others not so great. I really like the
orange reddish colore though.

I could be mistaken but I think that is Amber Stag Bone. I believe the handle scales are made of bone.

Very nice knife, by the way and great pics!

Agreed, Rick, stag bone, but as good as it gets . . . beautiful color and jigging. I don't think I've ever seen a genuine stag cannittler from CS.

Gorgeous knives! My only Cannitler is the 2007 BFC knife.

Amber bone.

The grind is a little wavy, but I see that on other samples of this knife as well. Still, this is one of my favorite slipjoints.

It looks like Amber stag bone to me too but I'll go with what it says on the insert. They do make one with "Genuine Burnt Amber Stag" but I can't link a pic because the vendor has it watermarked. Either way, it looks like you have a user and a saver now:)

Looks like I have a lot more learning to do. I'm still trying to figure out whats the difference between stag bone, stag, and just bone.
Thanks for all the great pics of your Cannitlers. Maybe Canal Street will see a surge of Cannitler sales cuz of all these great pics :)

Great looking knife! I respect collectors, but I can't resist the urge to pocket a knife, carry it and use it. Which is why I'll never be a truly successful collector. ;)
